The functionality is finally coming on December 12! Microsoft has enjoyed a long partnership with the makers of the Oculus Rift, and that is actually not a surprise.

Considering how important that company is for PC gaming in virtual reality.

In fact, they are also collaborating on the Xbox front.

And now that relationship has taken another step forward, as the software titan has announced on the Windows 10 blog that Windows 10 PCs will soon be able to stream Xbox One games to the Oculus Rift system.

The details:

Quote
“The new Xbox One Streaming to Oculus Rift app connects to your Xbox One via your home network. Once connected, your console’s video output is streamed to your Rift headset and projected onto a massive screen in your choice of one of three immersive VR environments: “Citadel,” “Retreat” and “Dome.”

Rift works natively with Windows 10, which makes it easy to set up, jump in and have an incredible VR gaming experience. Combined with DirectX 12 technology that unlocks the full capabilities of new Windows 10 graphics hardware, made-for-VR games on Windows 10 will have the fastest frame rates and top performance.”
Sweet.

Games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Halo 5: Guardians are all set for the Oculus Rift.

On top of that, a wireless Xbox controller will also be included with every Oculus Rift system, and thanks to upcoming PCs that offer native Xbox Wireless support, or even by using the adapter, gamers will be able to play games on the Rift without anything else required.
