Windows 10 Mobile Redstone Concept Reimagines The UI
« on: July 04, 2016, 07:49:09 PM »

And reimagines it well! Windows 10 Mobile Redstone is the codename of the first update for the mobile OS that is set to launch on August 2 as the Anniversary Update.

Now, while this refresh of the platform will bring along a number of interesting and useful features, one area where Microsoft has not focused much on is the user interface. Fans have been asking for a UI overhaul of Windows 10 Mobile with interactive live tiles and other options.

Remains to be seen when Microsoft touches up on the design of the mobile operating system, but in the meantime, this concept created by Moises David Perez Nara imagines an improved UI for the OS.

It clearly retains the traditional elements of the platform, but introduces a more modern look, with several neat touches here and there.

Take a look:

Significant improvements are reserved for the new Start screen, which the designer describes as having a more minimalistic approach. Live tiles are renewed, as are folders.

In fact, the wide live tile now extends from one side of the screen to the other, while elements like music playback controls, weather forecasts and calendar appointments can be displayed as tiles too, which makes for a more pleasant experience.

Eye candy comes to the lock screen as well, which has been redesigned with the action center.

Overall, though, this design seems to offer a bit more polish than what Windows 10 Mobile users currently have access to. Hopefully Redmond takes a look and can draw some inspiration for the user interface of its mobile OS.
