Surface 4, Surface Mini Coming This Year, Report Says
« on: February 10, 2015, 05:17:39 PM »
Surface fans, rejoice! It seems that Microsoft is ready to expand its tablet lineup with two new models this year, a Surface 4 and Surface Mini, according to a recent report.

The fact that Redmond continues investing in the Surface brand is not surprising.

A Surface 4 has been in the news for some time now.

However, talk of a completely new model, an 8-inch slate that takes on the small tablet market, and compete with devices like the Nexus 7 and iPad mini certainly is. Microsoft reportedly canceled such plans last year, but it appears that the company is ready to move in with a smaller device.

This is, according to Yahoo News, with the report claiming that these two new models are likely to debut after the public launch of Windows 10 later this year.

Of course, this is yet to be confirmed in any official capacity, but with the new operating system on the horizon, it is not unreasonable to think that some new tablet hardware is being worked upon at Redmond. More so considering the new features Windows 10 brings to the table.

Word is that the successor to the Surface Pro 3 will simply be called Surface 4, as development of the RT model has been discontinued.

Guess we’ll find out soon.
