UPDATE 2: After reaching out to Xbox Support, one Destiny fan has now discovered that Destiny will be available for pre-purchase three days before the games launch. Destiny is currently still viewable on the Xbox One, but has been taken down on the Marketplace website.
UPDATE: Currently, the Xbox store now says that Destiny is “not available” for purchase, but it is assumed that the pre-load access is slowly being rolled out to all users. Keep an eye on the store if you are interested in pre-ordering!
Users on NeoGAF have just discovered that Destiny has finally been put up on the Xbox Live marketplace for pre-order and early pre-load. This has been long awaited news for fans who have been waiting for the chance to purchase Destiny digitally.
Destiny is the second game to be available for pre-load on Xbox One, following Madden NFL 15. Pre-loading allows games to be downloaded before the release, but the game itself will not be accessible until 12:01 AM PDT on their respective release dates. In addition, Forza Horizon 2, FIFA 15, and Sunset Overdrive are all being planned for pre-load availability as well.
Destiny launches on September 9th, 2014, and will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. Pre-loading will be available for both the Standard Edition of the game, as well as the Digital Guardian Edition, which contains the Expansion pass for both planned Destiny expansions, as well as bonus content.
