Microsoft launched an exclusive edition of its award winning game, Halo for Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows 8.1. Named Halo: Spartan Assault, this special version of the first person shooting game was launched as a paid app for Windows 8 and Windows Phone devices. Now, the lite version of Halo: Spartan Assault is also available as a free app in Store.

The lite version of Halo: Spartan Assault offers gameplay of one level where you get to test the awesomeness of this game. You get to fight the covenant forces where the assault was started by Covenant after breaking the agreement.
 
The full version of the game offers 30 different and cool gameplay levels where you face different covenant force members and their weapons. You can kill the enemies and then commandeer their vehicles and use their weapons against them.

Although, this game isn’t like rest of the Halo franchises where first person view is available but, this is the first ever version of Halo designed for touch devices. Playing this game is fun on both mouse and keyboard as well as on touch screen and thanks to the rich graphics and sounds, playing this game feels like the original game for Xbox. Halo: Spartan Assault also offers Xbox controller support so that you may play it like you do on Xbox.


The lite version of the Halo: Spartan Assault is available for download for free and have a download size of 269MB. But, you will only be able to get one gameplay level in the lite version whereas, the full version costs $6.99 where you will be able to play all 30 levels along with other challenges with your friends.
