Windows 8 is now available for pre-orders – Upgrade DVD to cost $69.99

Windows 8 is now available officially for pre-orders at local and online retailers. Microsoft will be offering the Windows 8 Pro upgrade DVD for the cost of $69.99 and users with previous Windows version will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for the price of $39.99 but, it won’t be available till October 26. Windows 8 full OEM retail version is also available for the cost of $90 and $139 for Pro.

The following offers are available for Windows 8:
 
 • Windows 8 Pro upgrade DVD: Windows 8 would be offered as a Windows 8 Pro upgrade DVD which would cost $69.99 in promotional period and will cost $199.99 after January 2013 when the offer ends.

 • Windows 8 Online upgrade: Previous Windows users will get the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for the cost of $39.99 but, the offer will be live on October 26. More details can be found here.
 
Windows 8 Pro upgrade DVD is now available for pre-orders on the online and local retailers like the Amazon.com, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot and the Microsoft Store etc.
 
Windows 7 users who bought the Windows 7 PC after June 2012 will get the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for the just $14.99.
 
On the other hand, Windows 8 full system builder OEM retail version is available for pre-orders also on Newegg.com for the cost of $99 for standard version and $139 for the Pro version.
 
So, what’s the wait? Head over to your local retailer and pre-order the Windows 8 and get it on October 26 when Windows 8 would be launched officially.
