The Windows RT version of Microsoft Surface tablet has reportedly moved thorough the approval process of Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Although, the FCC documentation doesn’t say Surface tablet instead the name used is Model 1516 but, the features of the tablet does seem to be like the Surface tablet.

Engadget reports that the device which went to FCC is Surface as the FCC documentation submitted by Microsoft does reveal that the device is running Windows RT and it has all the features of Surface like the Wi-Fi, HDMI etc. Most importantly, the cover keyboard of Surface has also been mentioned it the documentation named as ‘membrane keyboard’.
Microsoft asked to keep most of the documentation and photos of testing confidential which points towards Microsoft’s silence regarding Surface.
Now, with the approval from FCC and the invitations being sent out for the Windows 8 and Surface launch event scheduled for October 25, we will officially be hearing infact, we would get our hands on the tablet at the end of this month.
