Nintendo announces special red Wii

Joining the family of special edition red Nintendo consoles commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario franchise is the recently announced red Wii. Just like the special DSi and DSi LL, the red Wii will only be sold in Japan.

The console is scheduled to go on sale in Japan on November 11th for ¥20,000 (about $241). The bundle also includes a shiny new gyroscope-packing Wii Remote Plus and red Nunchuk, along with a preinstalled copy of Super Mario Bros.
