First Intel Pentium Skylake CPUs Make Their Way To Stores
« on: October 01, 2015, 05:31:33 PM »
Did anybody say low-end Skylake CPUs? Well, it seems that the more affordable processors from the company are now in town. Intel Pentium models have made their way to the market.

In Japan, apparently.

The new Pentium G4500T is now available for purchase in Japan, and should soon be up for grabs around the rest of the world.

As promised, Intel decided to release these low-cost, eco-friendly chips, albeit in Japan, instead of say China or the United States. The company probably feels that there is a demand for these products in the country.

The Intel Pentium G4500T is a dual-core processor that comes without the HyperThreading technology and simply runs at 3GHz.

Some 3MB of last level cache is available, and the chips offer the standard dual-channel DDR3L/DDR4 memory controller to go with the Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics adapter. And just like the K-series CPUs in the lineup, this new chip is made using the 14nm process technology.

It has a TDP of 35 watts, and make use of the popular LGA1151 packaging.

The new Pentium G4500T is currently available in stores in the Akihabara shopping district in Japan, and it reportedly costs about ¥10300.

Or say, $86.
