Last month an unannounced 10 inch Android tablet from Asus started showing up at European retail sites. Now Asus has finally gotten around to officially introducing the tablet.
As expected, the Asus MeMO Pad 10 ME103K features a 10 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and Android 4.4 KitKat software.
Like other recent tablets from Asus, this model seems like it will be positioned as a low-cost alternative to pricier tablets from Samsung, Apple, and others.

European stores are showing prices of around 199 Euros, which suggests that the MeMO Pad 10 ME103K could sell for around $199 in the US.
It features an IPS display with wide viewing angles, support for 10-finger multitouch input, 1GB of RAM, and between 8GB and 32GB of built-in storage. The tablet has a microSD card reader, stereo speakers, a 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, and a 19Wh battery for up to 9.5 hours of run time.
The tablet supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi. Bluetooth 4.0, Miracast wireless display, and GPS.
Asus will offer models in white or black, and the tablet measures 10.1″ x 6.9″ x 0.4″ and weighs about 1.2 pounds.
There are certainly Android tablets with higher-resolution displays, faster processors, more memory, or other premium features. But budget tablets have come a long way in recent years, and the new 10 inch Asus MeMO Pad ME103K should be able to handle most Android apps without difficulty.
