Microsoft continues work on a new Windows 8.1 Update 1 build, so today new screenshots showing the upcoming release in action have reached the web.
Courtesy of famous Windows leaker WZor, these screenshots confirm that Windows 8.1 Update 1 Build 9600.16606 has been compiled, while also disclosing some pretty interesting features about Microsoft’s first update for Windows 8.1.
Notice: This build has already renamed SkyDrive to OneDrive.
Have a look at the photo gallery below and you'll notice some improvements:Windows 8.1 Update 1 is now configured to boot directly to desktop and skip the Start screen by default.
Metro apps appear to be running in their own windows.
Windows 8.1 Update 1 will boot straight to the Desktop interface by default, reducing Metro to its rightful role as a full-screen Start menu.
Addition of a power button to the Metro interface.
The option to “minimize” Metro apps hinting Metro apps will be usable on the Desktop.
