Microsoft Set To Bring Full Color 3D Printing To Windows 10
« on: November 09, 2016, 03:07:20 AM »

3D has now become a focal point for Microsoft, with the company not unveiling new software solutions like the updated Paint app, but also building the technology into its operating system.

And now, the software titan is planning to keep good going by bringing 3D printing into the mix.

Now understandably, 3D printing is a fair bit more complicated process, and requires new technologies to get the best results. But that is not stopping Microsoft from backing this feature set into its new Windows 10 operating system.

Clearly in an effort to carve out a lead in this field.

Of course, the technology giant is not resting on its laurels here, as it has filed for a new patent with the intention of bringing full-color 3D printing to the platform with mixed CMYKW materials.

As explained:

Quote
“So how does it work? In a nutshell, this patent covers various techniques for mixing CMYKW (cyan, magenta, yellow, key or black and white) 3D printable materials and expressing the design from computer software to a physical device – from CAD model to 3D printed object.”

And here is a look at how it looks:

Nothing much on this right now, other than the fact that this promises to be an excellent addition to the Windows 10, and hopefully, Windows 10 Mobile platforms.

It may well pave the way for wider acceptance of the 3D printing concept.
