Malwarebytes recently acquired ZeroVulnerabilityLabs, a vulnerability, exploits and security R&D Company. With this acquisition, ZeroVulnerabilityLab’s ExploitShield have become a part of the Malwarebytes family and it is now known as Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.
Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Tool
The Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Tool is not an antivirus software as we commonly understand. It basically, runs in the background, utilizes minimal resources, monitors applications and prevents vulnerabilities from being exploited.
Once you install it, there is not much to configure. Simply leave its settings at its default. You may however specify Exclusions, if any. If there are any incidents, you can see them logged under the Logs tab. The tool can even protect and block exploits of vulnerabilities that have not yet been detected by the software vendors.
The present version protects the following software and applications:
Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Java, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader, Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, Winamp Player, QuickTime Player, Windows Script Host and Windows Help.
