Last week was a big one for new OS by Microsoft as well as its OEM partners. We saw dozens of new Windows 8 devices during IFA which were running Windows 8. Those devices included hybrids tablets, convertibles, ultra-book and All-in-Ones and most of them would be available around the launch of Windows 8 on October 26. With so many devices being available to choose from, it gets pretty difficult to select the best devices but, we are here to help you with the best devices which are both awesome in features as well as provide best performance without compromising the productivity.

Windows 8 devices are powered by Intel based processors as well as the ARM ones and they run Windows 8 x86 and Windows RT (Windows 8 on ARM) but, below list has been compiled after selecting the best ones among both version.

Surface:

Surface by Microsoft is the ultimate tablet powered by Window 8. With sleek and slim design and almost all features of a good tablet, it is probably the best tablet yet. It comes in two versions i.e. Surface Pro running Windows 8 Pro and Surface RT running Windows RT.

Coming to the specs of Surface Pro, it is 0.49 inches in thickness, 1.99 pounds in weight, has 10.6 inches screen full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels powered by Intel Ivy Bridge core i5 processor 128GB or 64GB available storage and other traditional features. You can see the detailed specs of Surface Pro here.

Surface RT comes with pretty standard features similar to Surface Pro but, the things like processor and screen resolution has been changed due to the Windows version to be used. Surface RT has NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 10.1 screen with HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Detailed Specs of Surface RT can be found here.

Both Surface RT and Surface Pro would get the optional cover keyboard which is just 3 mm in thickness. It has the capacitive keyboard which makes the Typing is twice as efficient as typing on glass as said by; Steven Sinofsky.

Samsung Ativ Tab:

The second device to keep an eye on is the Windows RT tablet by Samsung named as Ativ Tab. This awesome tablet by Samsung is not a power pack but, still is has pretty awesome features.

Sony Vaio Duo 11:

This hybrid tablet by Sony is a power machine as well as distinctive in design and can be real competitor of Surface. The best feature of Vaio Dup 11 is its slider screen which moves down to make it a touch tablet but, when the screen in up it becomes a laptop. The keyboard is a backlit chick let keyboard. It runs on the Pro SKU of Windows 8.

Powered by Intel Core processors, it is available in all i3, i5 and i7 processor with all three of them clocked at 1.9 GHz. Dell XPS is also a Windows RT hybrid tablet but, not much is announced by Dell regarding the Specs. So far we know that it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip possible dual-core as Ativ Tab by Samsung is also running the same processor and card reader slot. Nothing else can be said about its specs for now but, it looks a device to keep an eye on due to its sleek and slim design. More details can be found here.

Lenovo ThinkPad 2:

This Lenovo ThinkPad 2 tablet is the successor of current ThinkPad tablet running Android OS but, ThinkPad 2 would run Windows 8 with an Intel Atom processor which takes it out of the power category.
