Double standard

It always amazes me how Bill Gates is vilified, and the same attitude seems to be springing up towards Zuckerbeg.

Meanwhile, Steve Jobs is the hero to all despite the fact that he's NEVER shown the slightest interest towards charity or philanthropy and has made just as many (if not more) scummy business moves as any of these other guys.

In fact, not only does Steve Jobs have no interest in philanthropy, he's actively worked AGAINST it:

"after resuming control of Apple in 1997, Jobs eliminated all corporate philanthropy programs as a temporary cost-cutting measure until profitability improved. Despite the company's record-breaking profits and $40 billion cash on hand, Jobs has not reinstated a philanthropic division at Apple."

(from his wikipedia page)

It amazes me how so many supposedly clear-minded, progressive people have a sneering disdain for Bill Gates, while they treat Steve Jobs like a saint. All while Gates has devoted his fortune to helping others and Steve Jobs not only keeps his to himself, but prevents his company from doing anything philanthropic in order to keep profits up.

I guess making hip fashion accessories that make people feel part of the cool crowd is the really important thing in life
