Yesterday, the final map of Titanfall’s first expansion was revealed. The first Titanfall DLC, the Expedition Map Pack, will release some time in May and will contain 3 brand new maps for Titanfall Multiplayer – War Games, Runoff, and finally Swamplands.
Swamplands was a map that was born early in Titanfall’s development, but was abandoned quickly. Now that Titanfall’s DLC season has come around, Respawn Entertainment thought it would be a good time to restart development of the map.
Initial designs of Swamplands included IMC structures and other military buildings, however the designers soon decided that it was necessary for the natural foliage of the swamp to become the main focus of the level. Trees act as interesting parkour locations and cover points for Pilots, as well as an interesting battleground for Titans. Three IMC buildings remain on the outer perimeter for Objective gametypes as well as more Pilot-specific combat.
Titanfall: Expedition has yet to receive a release date, however Respawn will be hosting a launch live stream on May 12th via TwitchTV, so it is safe to assume that the map pack will launch not too long afterwards.
