Intel today added 9 Haswell-based mobile microprocessors to the official price list. The list of new models includes Core i5-4310M, i5-4310U, i5-4340M and i5-4360U, along with Core i7-4610M, i7-4810MQ, i7-4860HQ, i7-4910MQ, and Core i7-4940MX Extreme Edition. Based on brief specifications in the pricelist, the CPUs provide only a minor speed boost over their predecessors, launched in the summer and the fall of last year.
Core i5 models come with 2 Hyper-Threaded cores and 3 MB of level 3 cache. Core i5-4310M and i5-4340M SKUs for mainstream market segment have 2.7 GHz and 2.9 GHz clock speeds, and HD 4600 graphics. Core i5-4310U and Core i5-4360U ultra-low power chips are clocked at 2 GHz and 1.5 GHz, and they have HD 4400 and HD 5000 graphics. Core i5 CPUs are priced from $225 and up to $315.
New Core i7 dual-core microprocessor is a Core i7-4610M. Like i5 "M" parts, it can run 4 threads simultaneously, and integrates HD 4600 graphics. The CPU runs at 3 GHz, and has larger 4 MB L3 cache. The official price of this chip is $346.
Core i7-4860HQ, i7-4810MQ and i7-4910MQ are quad-core processors, that operate at 2.4 GHz, 2.8 GHz and 2.9 GHz respectively. The former two chips have 6 MB of level 3 cache, and the latter chip has 8 MB L3 cache. The "MQ" CPUs use HD 4600, and the "HQ" model features HD 5200, or Iris Pro graphics. Official prices of Core i7s range from $379 for the i7-4810MQ to $568 for the i7-4910MQ.
The fastest and the most expensive microprocessor is a Core i7-4940MX, that boasts 4 CPU cores, 3.1 GHz clock speed, unlocked clock multiplier, and 8 MB L3 cache. This model incorporates HD 4600 graphics. The i7-4940MX is priced at $1096.
All SKUs are clocked 100 MHz higher than current Core i5-4300M, i5-4300U, i5-4330M, i5-4350U, i7-4600M, i7-4800MQ, i7-4850HQ, i7-4900MQ and i7-4930MX products, which should result in up to 3.5% - 7% better performance depending on model. Partial specifications of new processors are provided below:
