Watch The New 'BioShock Infinite' Gameplay Trailer
« on: October 21, 2012, 07:30:56 PM »
The new ‘BioShock Infinite’ trailer shows off the flying city of Columbia.

Speaking of BioShock, fans of 2013′s upcoming BioShock Infinite voted on which characters and elements of the game they’d like to see in the next trailer, and this is what Irrational Games came up with – a lovely, intense trailer of entirely in-game footage.

Call me a broken record, but this trailer will be entered into evidence for the gameplay trailers are best side of the aisle.

Infinite is certainly looking quite good, though it feels like we’ve been hearing about this game forever (2010 is ancient history in video game land.)

Set in 1912, we are given a new time period and a flying city – a former battleship suspended by blimps.

That contraption you see throughout the game is a sky-hook, which looks quite handy given the city’s skyrail system.

This trailer actually reminds me a bit of the Dark Souls ‘Bartholomew’

Dishonored has actually been one of the first games I’ve played since the original BioShock that’s done as good a job at creating an environment that felt like its own character.

The underwater Randian dystopia of the first game, for all its decline into madness, felt like a living thing. Columbia looks much different, but from what I’ve seen so far Irrational has done a good job creating another organic atmosphere, a city which, like Dunwall, is more than just a setting.

And it looks gorgeous.

BioShock Infinite is slated for a February 26th launch this coming year on PC, XBOX 360, and PS3.

This large songbird statue you see at the end of the trailer….

…is part of the $149.99 Ultimate Songbird edition of the game, featuring a limited edition of the 9.75 inch statue designed by Irrational concept artist Robb Waters.
