Halo: Anniversary Goes Gold, Kinect Support Detailed
« on: October 17, 2011, 12:57:16 AM »

Due out this November exclusively for the Xbox 360, 343 Industries and Microsoft have announced that Halo: Anniversary has officially gone gold. In addition to confirming the gold status of the game, new details have also emerged for the game’s Kinect support.

According to Shacknews, Halo: Anniversary will make some superficial use of Kinect, mostly with non-essential gameplay elements outside of saying “Grenade” and “Reload”, such as being able to switch between classic and enhanced visuals using the voice command. There’s also the option to get detailed info on items using the in-game encyclopedia using the voice command “Capture” to grab items and “Analyze” to get the data. Most people figured that Kinect would eventually find its way into the Halo franchise so it’s not surprising that it makes its debut in Halo: Annivesary.

The game will feature the full campaign of the original recreated for today’s standards, along with all the classic multiplayer maps and re-envisioned versions of the maps designed by 343 Industries.

The original Halo goes down in history as one of my all-time favorite first-person shooter games and was one of the very best console-based launch titles. Gamers who were too young to remember Halo or who want to play the game with all the glitz and glamour of the Xbox 360’s horsepower can do so starting November 15th.
