Hanvon got a bit of buzz recently for introducing a 10 inch touchscreen tablet with a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron ULV743 processor at a time when many other PC makers are pushing out tablets with low power ARM-based chips or Intel Atom processors. While Intel’s ULV line of chips aren’t exactly power hungry, they tend to offer significantly better overall performance than Atom chips.
But the ULV-toting Hanvon B10 Touchpad isn’t the only new tablet from Hanvon. The company has also introduced an Atom powered machine with a lower resolution display which I can only assume will be significantly cheaper than the B10.
The Hanvon F10 Touchpad has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1G of RAM, and 120G hard drive. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and has a multiotuch display. It also packs 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, mic, headphone, VGA, and 2 USB ports. The F10 Touchpad has a 2600mAh battery, handwriting recognition software, and facial recognition software, which implies that it also has a webcam, although I don’t see anything about the camera in the spec sheet.
The F10 measures 9.6″ x 7.2″ x 0.6″ and weighs about about 1.8 pounds.
As far as I can tell, the Hanvon F10 Touchpad is the tablet formerly known as the Hanvon BA10E. Last I heard, it would sell for between $500 and $600, but there’s no final word on pricing or availability.
