Minecraft is the recipient of a never ending series of updates.
With tens of millions of players around the world, the Microsoft owned developers at Mojang are keen to keep them happy and engaged. At least until the inevitable sequel arrives.
The new update coming for Windows 10 adds Overworld features, more contraptions to build and new Trophies to provide some reward for all that building effort.
The trophy list will add:
• Camouflage – Kill a mob while wearing the same type of mob head.
• Dispense With This – Construct a dispenser.
• Tie Dye Outfit – Dye all 4 unique pieces of leather armor.
• Map Room – Place 9 fully explored, adjacent maps into 9 item frames in a 3 by 3 square.
• Trampoline Bounce – 30 blocks upward off of a slime block.
• Freight Station – Use a Hopper to move an item from a Chest Minecart to a Chest.
• Smelt Everything! – Connect 3 Chests to a single Furnace using 3 Hoppers.
• Taste of Your Own Medicine – Poison a witch with a splash potion.
Minecraft on the March
They follow on from the recent addition of Journey to the West skins (http://mojang.com/2016/02/journey-to-the-west-skin-pack-now-on-pe-and-windows-10/) for the Windows 10 version. Also in this Overworld update are:
• More advanced mechanical contraptions including; comparators, repeaters, dispensers, droppers, hoppers, trapped chests.
• Additional Minecart types.
• New witch huts that contain an exciting new feature – cauldrons to produce potions and dye armor.
• Item Frames to display your finest collectables.
• New items including slime blocks, wearable pumpkins, red sandstone as well as improved chicken jockey mobs.
• Map import and export.
The update is due out later this month and will keep the Windows 10 version up with the latest features in the endlessly expandable game.
New trophies will be a key part in keeping fans loyal and happy. The big question is will Minecraft 2 be a Windows 10 and Xbox One exclusive for any period of time to help sales along?
