For a game that is still scheduled for release before the end of the year, Microsoft has not talked much about Fable Legends, the upcoming multi-platform free-to-play title.
Due to launch on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
We know it’s going to be a Windows Store exclusive, one of the first DirectX 12 powered games, and that early benchmarks showing the performance and future of Microsoft’s gaming API have been with us since the end of September.
But what’s next?
What of the release date?
Apparently, the publisher has been hesitant to share any details regarding when the game is launching.
Game Informer, however, received (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/12/10/where-is-fable-legends-microsoft-isnt-saying-quite-yet.aspx) a new statement from Microsoft that more information about the title will be revealed in the coming weeks:
“As a service-based title in closed beta, we’re always working to make sure that when we open ‘Fable Legends’ to everyone, that it’s a great gameplay experience. We are continuing to expand our closed beta and will have more details to share in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!”
With only three weeks remaining before the year concludes, it is pretty much confirmed that we will not be seeing the final version of the game until 2016 rolls around.
The game is special in the unification it offers, the cross-platform multiplayer between both systems, Xbox and Windows 10. Add to that DirectX 12 support, and deeper integration between PC and the Xbox Live service, Fable Legends could well turn out to be a harbinger of sorts.
But only next year, it seems.
