Fuhu has been selling a line of kid-friendly tablets under the nabi brand name for a few years, and now the company is launching the most powerful nabi tablet yet.

The nabi Elev-8 (http://www.nabitablet.com/elev-8) is an Android tablet with an 8 inchIPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragion 64-bit, octa-core processor, and a $169 price tag.

The tablet should be available soon from Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=nabi&u1=skim32X105Xfc8fb0a773bc0644efa63e7d1cf3595b&oid=183959.1&wmlspartner=TnL5HPStwNw&sourceid=39469960220603615190&affillinktype=10&veh=aff) and Toys R Us (http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=45464876&sr=1&origkw=nabi&iradidTRU=213036&camp=aff:TRU:10078:Skimbit+Ltd.&irpidTRU=10078&irgwc=1).

Fuhu’s latest tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, 32GB of storage, and up to 10 hours of battery life during video playback. There’s also a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of removable storage.

The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop software, but it also comes with Fuhu’s Blue Morpho OS which is a custom user interface designed to make Android more kid (and parent) friendly.

If you buy a Elev-8 tablet by the end of 2015, you also get a 6-month subscription to nabi Pass, which offers access to music, eBooks, apps, videos, and games.

Like most nabi tablets, the Elev-8 also comes with a red plastic bumper case that helps protect the tablet against falls. But the case is removable if you’d rather use the tablet naked.
