Title: This new third-party keyboard for the Surface Pro 3 is cheaper
Post by: javajolt on May 27, 2015, 05:12:00 PM
Let's face it, the Type Cover for the Surface Pro 3 is expensive, ranging from $115 to $130. What if you could purchase a low-cost keyboard that resembles the Type Cover but adds a few improvements? Check out this new keyboard from Editors Keys, a company dedicated to creating keyboards for media editing and recording.

This new keyboard is different than what the company normally creates. Expecting to retail for $69.99 USD or £49.99 GBP, this keyboard fits into the Surface Pro 3 the same way the Type Cover does, but comes with its own battery which can last for over a month. As a Bluetooth keyboard, you can detach it from the Surface Pro 3 and continue using it, especially when you have the Surface Pro 3 docked with a big monitor.

"As a Surface Pro 3 fan and the owner of Editors Keys, I thought we might be able to make a low cost keyboard which may appeal to students or anyone who wants a spaced out keyboard for the Surface Pro 3," said Mark Brown, the owner of Editors Keys (http://www.editorskeys.com/).

As of right now, the keyboard is nearly completed in terms of development and the company is looking to improve the trackpad just a tad bit more before release. There is no official name for the keyboard just yet, so stay tuned. If you are interested in a low-cost Type Cover alternative, keep an eye on editorskeys.com.
