Interestingly, the Dell Venue 8 7000 started to become hyped because of the iPad Air 2, that claimed it was the slimmest tablet on the market. Well, actually the Dell Venue 8 7000 is slimmer, at 6 mm, compared to the 6.1 mm iPad Air 2. Today the Dell product reaches the FCC, as it gears for launch.

This unit runs Android and relies on an Intel Atom Moorefield processor, plus it packs an 8.4 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel OLED display and an interesting Intel RealSense Snapshot camera. The product is expected to be priced at $499 and it should come to the stores in a few weeks. The RealSense camera is able to shoot 3D pictures and also apply extra 3D effects to pictures, looking very cool.
The Venue 8 7000 also offers a 21 Wh battery, a microSD card slot and there will also be a LTE version in the future. From what I see the device has an elongated form factor and minimal bezel and it looks more like a Nexus 7 than a Nexus 9, if you really want a comparison.
