This is a big one, folks. Unofficial, but a big one. A slew of new Windows 9 details have popped up online over the weekend, and one of the more interesting one is that users might get the ability to completely disable Metro in Windows 9.
These have, again, been posted by the Russian leak group WZOR.
And it appears desktop users of the upcoming operating system might be in line for some pretty big changes to how Windows 9 looks. The Modern UI will, undoubtedly, play a big role for Microsoft in the near future.
Yet at the same time, the software titan plans to offer users all sorts of options to customize the operating system according to their unique needs and workflows.
This includes giving users of the Enterprise version of Windows 9 the ability to completely disable Metro, also known as the Modern UI, if they so desire — making the desktop the only working environment on traditional PCs with keyboard and mouse.
If this holds true, then it appears that Microsoft is really taking the feedback from business users into account for Windows 9, and that can only mean good things.
File this as rumors for now, but a very crisp rumor.
