Thin is in these days, with smartphone, tablet, and laptop makers constantly striving to make devices that are virtually paper-thin. So why should peripherals be any different? ADATA has introduces a new external hard drive that’s just 8.9mm or about 0.35 inches thick.

The ADATA DashDrive Elite HE720 is a 500GB with a USB 3.0 interface. It comes in a scratch-resistant brushed metal case. ADATA also offers a one-touch backup app that you can use to backup data from your PC to the external hard disk.

The 2.5″ SATA II disk drive and enclosure measures 4.6″ x 3.1″ x 0.35″ and weighs about 0.4 pounds.

ADATA says the HE720 has a list price of $90, but the only store I can find that’s selling it at the moment is charging $94 + shipping (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B009C97GNE/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&condition=all&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=bradlindsdigi-20). ADATA offers a 3 year warranty.
