Title: Warning Bogus Windows 8 Leaks Starting to appear BEWARE
Post by: javajolt on February 12, 2012, 09:08:28 PM

As we rapidly approach the offical release of Windows 8 Consumer Preview there will be unscrupulous people passing off usually tainted software as the real thing.  It also comes with instructuions on installations and undating to make it legitimate.

Part of my job as System Administrator is to do my best to protect the forum but also You our members.  I came across a nefarious looking supposed W8 leak titled Microsoft Windows 8 RC1 32bit today on a site called sharevirus (how appropriate right).  Below is the information provided.

Since we are days away, I think it best to wait for the Offical Release we ALL will know is on the up and up.

Microsoft Windows 8 RC1 32bit

Released Release Candidate 1 (RC1) of the very latest operating system Microsoft Windows 8. This is beyond my own expectations as it’s sooner than I personally expected. Still, I highly recommend everyone to test this first in a VIRTUAL environment before applying it to your WORKING/LIVE environment. I warned you.Windows 8 is the codename for the next version of the Microsoft Windows computer operating system following Windows 7. It has many changes from previous versions. In particular it adds support for ARM microprocessors in addition to the previously supported x86 microprocessors from Intel and AMD. A new Metro-style interface has been added that was designed for touchscreen input in addition to mouse keyboard, and pen input.

Install Notes:

1. Unpack.

2. Mount or burn.

3. Install.

4. You'll notice that it's called "DEVELOPER PREVIEW" but go online using the WINDOWS UPDATER and run an update, and then the
updated system will become a RELEASE CANDIDATE.

5. Enjoy this early release preview.

Hope this helps in some small way...

RC = Release Candidate and we are no where close to that yet.
