This is not something new from Apple as a few time back we saw the same move made for Apple’s iPod. But one thing which we need to point out, Apple had revealed a policy against the engraving. Even though Apple has said nothing for the iPad but the iPod policy was as follows:
Personalized iPods (e.g., engraved or customized in any way) may not be returned for refund or exchange under any circumstances unless such product is Dead on Arrival.
