The ubiquitous leaker Digital Chat Station has asserted once again that the OEM Vivo will break into the tablet market with what might be a fairly high-end Android slate soon. However, the company is also tipped to face even more competition than it may have anticipated in 2022, as many others are planning to contribute to this form factor's market in a number of different ways.

The OEM Vivo, which may be best known for its smartphones, has been linked to a new foray into the tablet market for quite some time now. Digital Chat Station has just re-ignited these rumors with claims that an inaugural slate from this company is indeed on the way soon, and will launch with Qualcomm's somewhat-premium Snapdragon 870 SoC.

Accordingly, this putative Vivo tablet might be poised to compete with devices at the level of Lenovo's Tab P12 Pro, depending on its date of launch. However, Digital Chat Station was less than specific on this point, besides remarking that the first-of-its-kind product would be here "soon".

The leaker did vaguely hint that it would be ill-advised for Vivo to hold out on such a debut for much longer, as the BBK Electronics subsidiary may be letting itself in for a considerably challenging time in the market should it wait until 2022.

This, according to the famous tipster, is because the tablet space has the potential to explode "next year". Many more OEMs besides Vivo may leap into the same arena, or expand their existing positions within it, occasionally by getting into different use-cases such as gaming or "well-positioned" (a term that could be interpreted to mean decently-spec'd, competitively-priced or simply in-demand) e-readers.

Furthermore, 2022 might also become the year of the big-screen OLED tablet, possibly led by-products such as Samsung's rumored Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. 2021 has indeed seen a resurgence of consumer interest in tablets; therefore, many manufacturers might seek to keep it going with new and intriguing devices with bigger and better screens in the future.
