May's latest optional cumulative update would appear to cause issues on the Windows 10 taskbar.

It would appear that Microsoft has finally partially acknowledged the problems of the News and Interests widget by communicating that it is aware of the text blur bug and to work on a solution that will come with an upcoming update.

Fix taskbar with News and interests widget

In addition to text blur issues with 100% scaling, several users are reporting strange glitches and malfunctions on the Windows 10 taskbar, or rather on the taskbar and tray bar after the latest cumulative update. It would seem that the problem is attributable to the new News and interests widget introduced with the latest cumulative update. Specifically, it would seem that problems arise when disabling the widget , as you can see in the video above. Microsoft hasn't recognized the problem yet, but it's easily fixed by re-enabling it.

   1. Right click on the taskbar.

   2. Click on News and interests.

   3. Choose an option from Show icons and text or Show icons only.

Alternatively, if you don't want to see the new widget, you can fix it by uninstalling the latest cumulative update.
