Huawei updates its EMUI 11 upgrade plans globally
« on: January 06, 2021, 12:41:38 PM »
Huawei has refreshed its EMUI 11 upgrade plans globally. The OS update has only been delivered to a limited number of handsets so far, while India is yet to receive EMUI 11 at all. Huawei has provided the update to all users of a few devices in some regions, though.

Huawei is sticking to the timeline of its EMUI 11 upgrade plans, has started rolling out the OS update to devices last month. According to a company blog post, EMUI 11 has reached the Mate 30 and P40 series in Central Asia, Canada, Japan and Russia. Additionally, it has delivered the OS update to all Mate 30 Pro and P40 Pro+ users in Northeast Europe, along with the Mate 30 series in the Asia Pacific and West Europe.

By contrast, Huawei continues to push EMUI 11 in batches for some devices registered in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Anecdotally, this means that Huawei could take a few weeks or even months before it finishes rolling out the OS update in these regions.

You can view the refreshed upgrade plans below. Please note that the timelines described in these screenshots only represent Huawei's plans to upgrade unlocked handsets, not carrier-locked ones. We would recommend referring to your carrier's update plan instead if they have published one.

Overall, it seems that Huawei should have finished rolling out EMUI 11 by the summer, if not sooner. Last month, the company began open public beta testing of Kirin 980-based devices like the Mate 20 Pro, so it seems that Huawei remains on track to deliver EMUI 11 to older flagships in March.
