Windows 8 Build 8500 has reportedly crossed the 8500 mark and the final release to manufacturing (RTM) build would also be selected from this build series. Also the build for RTM is scheduled to be finalized during second half of July where Microsoft employees would select the stable build by voting.

As reported by Neowin.net, a source close to Microsoft says that the final build of Windows 8 RTM would be 8500 and would be finalized by second half of July. Canouna on WinUnleaked reports that the final build of Windows 8 would from the 8500 series as multiple builds have been created on 8500.

Although, all the builds of RTM are escrow build but, one is from Release Candidate whose build number is as follow:

8500.0.winmain_win8rtm.120623-1707

Canouna also reports that all the future builds would be from the 8500 series but, they would be named as post-RTM until the final build is opted.

We have previously reported that the final RTM build would be 8600 but, this new report differs from the previous one. It seems like Microsoft is on its way to release Windows 8 RTM in July followed by final version in October which is reportedly the launch date for Windows 8.

The news about final build of Windows 8 RTM is still shaded and won’t be confirmed until we see some solid prove of final RTM build.
