Open Source HarmonyOS added 2 new contributors

Open source Huawei HarmonyOS project – OpenHarmony has added two new contributors to the code donation program including electronics maker – Midea Group and Shenzhen Kaihong in December.

The latest addition will further boost the cooperation between the enterprise development of the HarmonyOS operating system and will raise its use case awareness. On the other hand, it’ll also boost R&D and app innovation platforms to benefit the consumers.

Not only that, these two new contributors will help to build a better HarmonyOS ecosystem and a win-win situation for all of the participants in the process.

According to the media report, both of these tech makers have joined the OpenHarmony project group and will jointly contribute to the open-source ecosystem development of OpenHarmony.

Midea:

Midea has already become one of the largest users of the Open Source HarmonyOS project and launched a bunch of new products and services for the customers partnered with Huawei. Midea has committed to working closely with the developer community and will scale up the use case of the OpenHarmony operating system.

The company is simplifying the adaptation of OpenHarmony in hardware and wants to synchronize the software process as much as possible. So that the hardware and software work to provide a better user experience.

Aside from the adaption, Midea is also working in the area of component development, and framework optimization to contribute to the improvement of the system. At the same time, Midea will also actively participate in the construction of OpenHarmony and the community’s marketing work, and give play to and enhance OpenHarmony’s open-source drive for Midea’s diverse business formats & home appliance industry.
